A deaf and mute little boy wanders away from home in the aftermath of the battle of Chickamauga, one of the bloodiest conflagrations of the American Civil War.
In May 1945, Czech revolutionaries used several armoured trains in the fighting - partly captured, partly assembled from whatever the railway brought. One of them was commanded by the shunter Jan Chýň, who managed to bring weapons from the ammunition depot in Libčice to help the fighting in Prague.
A friendship relationship develops between the child Mamdouh, the son of a wealthy family, and Fathia, who is from a poor family. Days go by and the two children, Mamdouh and Fathia, separate. Mamdouh becomes an officer in the army, while Fathia, after losing her family, works in a cabaret. Mamdouh and Fathia meet after all these years and return to the memory of the past. So he decides to marry Fathia.

The film is a continuation of the films I Died to Live in 1984 and After My Funeral in 1989. As in the second part, the action consists of fictional events (the first part was about real events). Błażejewski is caught in a round-up. Leopold Wójcik's papers were found with him. The pointer lets Wójcik know about this event and warns his colleagues from Kielce who manage to escape. During the interrogation, Błażejewski denies the papers that were found with him. Soon he is released. This does not mean the end of problems for people dealing with Wójcik's case.

Vallejo wanted to make the film in Colombia, however he found numerous obstacles to film it in the country so he decided to do it in Mexico with Mexican actors and recreating the Colombian landscapes in that country.

But director, artist, animator and all-round firework of a man Len Lye specialised in the unexpected.
